Canon XC10 Firmware Update v1.0.1.0 available
New Canon XC10 Firmware update adds a menu switch to reduce Rolling Shutter in 4K.
Canon released the first firmware update since the release of the fixed lens camera XC10. Version 1.0.1.0 simply adds a Rolling Shutter Reduction function which can be enabled in the menu under Camera/2/Rolling Shutter Reduction.
The menu function is only available when shooting 4K UHD, not when using HD resolution.
When the Rolling Shutter Reduction is enabled, the menu items for Face Tracking and Flicker Reduction are disabled, but Autofocus still works normal.
- Jello effects of Rolling Shutter is greatly reduced and helps with fast sideways moving images.
Do not forget to backup the menu settings before updating the camera, the update-process will reset the camera to factory settings. After updating, the menu settings can be loaded from the SD card.
Get the firmware from Canon’s Website.
